King
Planning a trip down from North Alabama this weekend, how is the King fishing going? I was down a couple weeks ago when all that kelp, grass clups, mats, whatever, were in the Gulf and did not do to well with the King.

Not many (maybe a couple) since the storm...keep an eye on the Gulf State Park Pier Fishing Reports subforum...anything caught by regulars here (or that they witnessed being caught) will be posted there.

There is still an awful lot of fresh/muddy water coming down the rivers. Forecast for tomorrow does not look good.
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/of...inity_forecastPeople are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

You can sometimes get a decent idea of the water's clarity by checking out the Sea-N-Suds webcam and use the surf-close-up view. The water looks dark brownish to me. When I'm at work, this is my view of the beach! Sea-N-Suds Restaurant & Oyster Bar. Live Web Cam

All the water from North Alabama is still making its way down toward the gulf and as long as it's still flowing this way, the Alabama gulf coast will take a while to really clear up.

Even if the kings aren't running there are still plenty of other species biting. The past two days I have caught mangrove snapper, flounder, Spanish and one small red snapper a few inches shy of being legal size. I've seen pomps and reds being caught regularly and if you just want a fun fight there were some monstrously sized bluefish being caught by the bathrooms yesterday.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
