Key Largo rod
Just wondering if I got ripped off, 8' king/Cobia rod with the big eyes, it's used, but never really actually used. Paid $75.00 for it. Excellent shape. What do you think John g and others??

If you were wanting a heavy cobia rod,you did fine. But if you were wanting a king rod,you will not be happy.

I bought at a sporting goods consignment store. It definitely is more on the heavy side than the medium heavy, which I really wanted a medium heavy, but I couldn't spend what it cost for a new custom K/C rod and at this price I didn't want to pass it up. I'll be fine for now I think, maybe in the offseason I'll save up for a John G special that I have already picked out :-)
Im not sure if it is a lamiglass or gator, but from researching I think it may be a gator, which I understand lamiglass is superior to gator.

They sell for $75 at the outcast spring sale. If it's in good condition, then you got a good deal. You certainly didn't get ripped off.

I took it to the pier this morning and it performed very nice, granted I only hooked up on sharks, but it is definitely more on the Cobia side than king as far as flex. Damn fine rod though. Just need me another 706 I can match up with a king rod now.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
