Kayak fishing at gulf state park

OK. I am coming down and staying at Gulf State Park this upcoming week. I have been told you can rent a Kayak and go into the Bay or maybe even Lake Shelby and do really well on Specks and Redfish. Anybody have any insight on that? Also this pier fishing looks fun but also looks like complete chaos. It it like that all the time or just mainly weekends?

I'm down for this weekend+ and have my Scupper pro kayak with me ( the plan was to do some off pier shark slaying)
If you do end up doing some kayak fishing anytime this weekend shoot me a pm

I won't get to go till Monday at the earliest. I am looking forward to it. I hope I can get some info from the local bait shops and get with it,

    Hey Stik,

I actually called the Kayak place that you pasted in your quote and reserved my Kayak. I hope they can set me up with one that I can hold a little gear with. I also heard from another guy that there is supposed to be a hot spot out in front of the pier at the end of Fort Morgan.

    Any Ideas
