Kayak fishing
Hello all--
A couple of friends of mine and I are coming down sept 10-16 to do some kayak fishing out of Gulf Shores. How has the Hurricane/ Rain/ Wind messed up the water? Has anyone seen this before? and how long does it typically take to clean up?
Thanks for the help!
Tight lines!!

By the time you folks get down here, the effects of Harvey shouldn't be an issue. That being said, there is no guarantee that a new system won't have moved in by that time. The conditions down here can, and usually do change literally over night. Are you planning to take the kayaks offshore or just stay in? Good luck to you all, and let us know how you do.

Thanks Ty--
We intend to give the offshore idea a go as long as mother nature will play along. With that said we intend to fish little lagoon for sure. Any Idea what is hitting or what to catch them on? We have only surf fished to this point, so any advise you can give will be much appreciated. We do a quite a bit of yak fishing on rivers and lakes in Michigan, but never in salt before! We are very excited to give this a shot.
Thanks again. At least we don't have to worry about Harvey for now.

I'll be down the 17th sorry I'll miss you. LIttle Lagoon-Gulp, Fishbites, plastic swim baits, live shrimp. Good luck, I'm watching the weather as well.

Thanks for the ideas! Looks like we are on the right track then! I'll hopefully be able to post some pictures of how we did!

Well... We made it down here and so did the winds of Irma... Kayaks are out. Mother nature is being true to her name. We have surf fished through the wind and have caught some reds, whiting, one small pompano, and lady fish... so far so good!

Here are some pictures of the fish that we caught Sept 10-16th.
Enjoy...
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
