    July Pier Fishing

Here is a pic of an article in the July issue of AON....Alabama Outdoor News. As the caption says, we will be catching 30# + King Mackerel from the pier this July. It says they are caught regularly in July!!!!!

Man I hope this article is correct, because it is definitely in conflict with my past few years in July. I thought you might get a laugh from this.

Some outdoor writers have an inclination toward 'embellishment' ;-)

FWIW here is the full article AONmagazine.com - Fish The Alabama Saltwater Piers - Alabama Outdoor News

That being said nice sized kings in July have been a historical fact!
Not every year, but many a year has seen kings to 40# decked.
occasionally some 12- to 30-pounders will be caught.

Summer '12 was in fact a good one. Quite a few chewdown days with numerous 30#s and mid 20s were common. That was before the beach replenishment, however. Last person on earth to say there's a direct correlation but the timing is sure curious.
    Screw it. Let's ride.
