Any of y'all ever fish off a jet ski? We are thinking about buying some and rigging them up for fishing. Thought we could use them in the little lagoon, the bay and if its calm enough head out by the rigs.

Haven't tried it, but certainly thought about it after riding around on one in Panama city.
Bet it'd be fun.
There are guys up in South Carolina that have jet skis fully decked out and they go out about 30 miles offshore in rough seas and fish. I think you would be fine doing it here especially if you are staying in the bay and close to shore.
Have seen it done on tv PBilly. I think it was extreme catches. They were actually going pretty far offshore and fishing oil rigs. The pwc they were using was set up with fish finders and gps. The guys had made rod racks and holders to fit his machine.
Remembering how big the seas sometimes looked from the flybridge of a 40' sportsfisherman, I don't think I could handle fishing from a jetski in the open Gulf---of course, that's just me and I'm old and crazy. It actually would probably be fun on a calm day, running out to the rigs.
Think Ill pull the trigger and get some after the summer. Now i just need to figure out how to get from the house we stay at to the beach to launch. guess I could build a dolly with sand tires. Or launch at fort morgan marina and drive it around.
Most of the people I've seen fishing offshore on PWCs are using the larger Sea-Doos, 2-3 seat rides like a RXP260.
2nd & 3rd seating modified to carry coolers, live wells, tackle and rod racks.
Inshore & nearshore, you should be able to downgrade the size of the PWC.
Still going to need a 2-3 seater, just not as powerful or with the range,
Something in the GTI series.
Evidently there is no shortage of accessories.
