This sort of justifies my preference for (cheaper) mono.

Good info there, but there's way more than I can keep in my low-capacity brain. I hope Pier#r reads it because he's the only one I know who will remember it all, and if there's anything I need to know about it, I'll ask him.

I agree Mr Wire, reading that made my head hurt ;-) lol

Flouro vs Mono vs Braid has been the point of many a discussion betweenst me and BPS customers and fellow associates and there are no clear-cut winners.
But IMHO every tool has it place and job.
Thanks for posting that (fine) article Red!
It succinctly debunks some of the overblown claims of Flouro and has the science to back it up.
It also reinforces some of the claims by pointing to the scientific proof that it is virtually 'water proof', slightly heavier than mono, and has a little less stretch.
I am 'turned off' by it's slightly inferior knot strength though :-(Last edited by Pier#r; 12-27-2013 at 10:10 AM.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
