Igloo Trailmate
I was at Academy last sunday and saw something that was new to me, the Igloo Trailmate wheeled cooler.
I am curious if these have made an appearance on the pier yet? They seem like a natural.

@ +$200 the Van $tall crew should luv it ;-)
Looks nice though. Great concept.
Found this review online that runs down the features in 2 minutes (ignoring the political ad ;-)

If I ever pay $200 for a cooler, it better come filled with a high end selection of rum, bourbon and sake.
Unless you are going off grid (back country, remote fish camp, etc..), I just don't see a sensible reason to pay the $$$$$ for these "top end" coolers. It just doesn't make sense.
I fished offshore for years with a $50 igloo 120 quart and never had a problem keeping fish cold. Have the same $25 48 quart cooler on my peir cart for almost 15 years and never worried about fish going bad before I got home.
my 2 cents worth...Carl

There is a "marine" version too. ( How hard is it to make an all white cooler.)
I definitely don't need one, but having put my hands on one, I can appreciate the functionality of it. Tackle storage, rod holders, smooth functioning extending handle, fairly compact for portage, bungee tie downs, movable tray/work table, bottle openers, wheels. Not just a $200 cooler,(well, maybe). I was a little impressed.
Seems like it would be a decent option for some.

i noticed the cooler at academy on a recent visit as well. i was impressed and wanted to make an impulse purchase. then i realized that i have probably 10 coolers i don't use or need. what i will say is that i do think it is well thought out and that the wheels would be okay for all uses, including sand. not perfect but i do respect the thoughtfulness that went into the design. the thought that went into the price tag was off-putting though.

That's not just your Cooler it's your Cart and Tackle Box.
If you think of it that way it's Cost effectiveIf you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
