I went Monday and Thursday last week and I did not get a nibble both days. None to very little surf and the water has been the clearest I have ever seen it. Actually I spent more time Thursday trying to get the Heron with the gotcha plug hanging out of his leg then I did fishing. Water temp has been around 58 degrees. It has been extremely slow as of late. As a result I have been doing all my house projects now. I am planning on going down on Wed. morning expecting strong west winds and 5 to7 ft. waves should finally bring in some surf. Whiting and a few reds and drum have been the catch here lately and a occasional pompano. Been trying to get together a few combos and ammo. for the spring King and Spanish arrival. This I am sure explains the lack of reports. Wish I had better news.

Saw a report on another forum of a fantastic catch of whiting out on Fort Morgan Peninsula late last week.
And lots of specs deep on Raft River.
Other than that, seems like not much going on.Carl

Merry Christmas from me, too. Y'all northern pier rats are going to have to go out and go dashing through the snow for me---nothing but mud down here. Y'all jingle a bell and roast a chestnut while I'm out in a treestand waiting for one of S.C.'s big antlered reindeer to get confused about where he is.
Happy birthday, kingkiller.

I was wondering if anything further was found out about the pier camera.I'm coming down New Years weekend and trying to find out if I could help anyway in getting it repaired.

Got to the pier today about 10:30, after the last of the morning storms came through. Water was pretty murky, and the fishing was dismal. Saw one small hardhead and a croaker caught. Never got a bite myself. No sheepshead present, and I checked every piling.
Still better than working, though

I went down to the pier today and yesterday and didn't get the first bite. However, this is the pier at my little fish pond near the hunting camp, and if these fish continue to not bite, I always have the option of draining the pond---that'll show 'em. They obviously don't realize that they are being pursued by the Great And Powerful Haywire.

Draining it is too much effort just throw a couple of sticks of dynamite in the pond that will show them whose boss.

According to my charts tomorrow should be a good day to fish.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
