    Looking good!!
I do most of my own anymore till the 800lbs of lead is gone .....working on a mold right now for the trolly anchor weight, for the east coast piers, if I ever go back there.....and if they allow it at Gulf Shores in the future....just something to fill my time retired.... in the winter.... up north

Bill---If I had the wherewithal, I'd make a mold for those flat egg sinkers. They look like they wouldn't roll around on the bottom and tangle your leader with your line. This is a blatant hint, by the way, just in case you ever do make any. I'd like to buy some off you, but I guess it'd be a little pushy to be putting in an order for the size I want for something you haven't made.

Their prices are pretty good and shipping lead isn't cheap!
I see their shipping/handling seems to be a flat $15 for orders under 40# and FREE for orders over 40#.

Maybe someone on here who lives near the pier could act as a single shipping point if a group of folks wanted to throw in orders to get over 40# (hint-hint Mr Wire ;-)

I'd like me some flat egg sinkers and have been using the "coin" sinkers for a while now.
BTW, BPS in Spanish Fort usually has them in 1, 1 1/2, and 2 oz sizes.

    Just sayin...

.I have only found a mold for the no roll egg, no smaller then 2oz so far.....poured my first trolly weight last night that weighed in at 6-3/4 oz(copied from a 5-1/2oz one) .....still need to do some more to the aluminum plate to match the edges a little....but turned out pretty good for the first pour with wire in it....so it is ready to fish.....just an anchor so looks aren't real important ....but it still looks good to me.

making things by hand is a challenge and very rewarding for me.... especially when others like and use them

I did just find a mold for 1,1-1/2,2.&3oz for the no roll egg weight....not sure if I want to buy it or try and make one.

Actually, I was looking for the sizes you found the mold for----the one to two ounce size. I have a couple of 5# pigs that I used to use for buoy weights that you are welcome to. Don't know what I've been saving them for, but this seems like a good opportunity. I used to pour my own sinkers, but the only mold I had was for heavy bank sinkers, and if I still have it, it's probably a big lump of rust out in the storage shed.

after some more filing on the aluminum plate(hand made mold), I am pouring the second trolly anchor with wire to check the edges and fit, plus the weight once done....headed to the basement for the preheat and pour

update....it's done....weigh in at 7-3/4oz and edges are very close, just minor sanding but not needed at all....I was trying to shoot for 8oz but close enough...the 2 times I put one out my last trip, I had trouble with the 5-1/2 oz holding good....this one should help..... if ever used

pouring lead today....no roll egg sinker and still messing with the claw sinker with 10ga copper wire now(instead of the stiff brazing rod)....weigh in at 8-1/8oz (after the minor mod's made)
might get into some spear head jigs too ....to replace the ones given or lost my last trip.....winter need something to do inside till muzzle loader season arrives next weekend
