Four PENDING State Record Fish: Sand Tilefish (1 pound, 12.8 ounces), Pompano Dolphinfish (4 pounds, 2 ounces), Yellowedge Grouper (48 pounds, 9.28 ounces), and a Darwin's Slimehead (4 pounds, 0.4 ounces)!

Wonder how deep they were fishing when they brought that thing up from the bottom??

Wow, that is a rare "catch" in these waters.

Originally called a Finescale Roughy, those deepwater guys are quite common around africa and australia.

Since it isn't a juvenille, I'd be more inclined to believe it was found in a larger fish's belly as opposed to being caught on hook and line... but who knows. :

I keep wondering when someone will challenge some of the more overlooked records for common fish, such as the striped mullet and moonfish..both sitting close to 1 pound. I bet these have been unknowingly broken a few times at the pier.

Is there any purpose to the above post? How does that have anything to do with a fishing forum? Just seems like a bit of wasted space.
