Sure hope the additional 100' of seawall is enough to maintain a deeper channel into the gulf.
Awesome. The biggest trout I've ever caught were all at the pass. Great place for reds and flounder also at times.
From looking at the aerial photo and the proposed widening of the seawall, that place will be a very good spot to fish one day. Always had good fishing there. Gulf side of the channel throwing looney jigs and bouncing them back, you can tear up the slot reds when the water flow is just right. They're gonna need a bigger parking lot.
Snake, hush. ;-)
Whoops! Sorry ;)

On Monday, September 8, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin maintenance dredging operations at Little Lagoon Pass. Dredge spoils will be pumped from the pass and placed on nearby beaches to restore sand lost during severe winter storms earlier this year.
These operations are expected to be conducted over the next two months, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Homes within 1,500 feet west of the pass may experience temporary impacts during this time.
ALDOT and the City of Gulf Shores appreciate your patience and understanding as this phase of the Lee Callaway Bridge/Little Lagoon Pass project is completed.
For more information, contact Project Manager Phillip Presley at 251-989-6319 or by email.
An interesting update pic by our good friend Steve Jones on FB showing the width difference of the new seawall at the Little Lagoon Pass (Dec 26)...

I wonder if it will be deep enough for small boats to come in and out at low tide.
If it's not deep enough, maybe they could just make the bridge higher?????
