Help me Win a Redfish Tournament?

Ok. I am fishing a kayak tournament Sat. The target is Redfish, and that is a fish I never cared to catch (other than bull reds). I will be fishing on grass flats. Paddle tail jigs work pretty good, but it is impossible to keep the grass off the jig head.

Anyway, any suggestions on artificial bait, rigging or bait working?

The longest Redfish and longest Speck wins.

Try throwing a Bandit Splatterback Bubba. BT66 told me about them, I've had some success with them. Specs will hit them too.

LMAO yeah we had like 1 of each lol I did good with a white grub with a padle tail off the pier on redfsih and drum this winter at night pretty much if you find em they gona eat..Good luck let us know how you do in it

A gold Johnson or other weedless spoon, with any of the types of plastics mentioned before as a trailer. If you miss a few, trim the trailer shorter so less of the paddle-tail stick back. Skims right over the grass and casts well. Fishes the whole water column if necessary.

However, the spinnerbait rig allows covering more water faster.
