Haven't fished the Gulf since the '90's
I used to love surf fishing in Gulf Shores, but haven't had a chance in the last 20 years. I am coming down for several days in mid Feb. Any recommendations on what to fish for &/or how to fish?

Sheepshead, whiting, some croakers, maybe redfish if they roll through, a flounder was caught a while back too. Go to J&M, they'll set you up. Really for those species if you've got a decent "bass setup", it will work just fine. 1/2oz egg sinker, small swivel, 12" flouro leader, and a smaller size hook and you're good to go.

What Snake said....... The water is still pretty chilly for the fishing to take off too much, but you can keep your fingers crossed and give it a try. I may go out and attempt to kill a sheepshead day after tomorrow.

Normal to slightly below normal temps forecasted for the whole next week. Better than 20's but I wouldn't count on the Spanish or kings showing up early this year.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
