Handmade Shrimp Lure, Almost too Nice to Fish

I make my own jigs and dress them with a variety of materials but they are much easier than this man made shrimp. I am impressed.

II was intrigued by this shrimp so I had to try my hand at making one for myself. It was not as complicated as what I thought it would be. Gonna pic up some clear straws tomorrow and make a couple dozen. A clear straw imitation also.

One good redfish & they proly are done. Worth the time & effort I guess. Good looking lure. In hard times that guy has it covered.

As a work of art, I think they're nice to look at.

You know...I occasionally tie up some shrimp flies of my own which aren't great--kind of look like a shrimp whose a little shifty and whose wife made him sleep in the tool shed for the weekend--but is shrimpy looking enough to catch a fish now and then. This guy's straw shrimp are so pretty I think I'd have to just put it on the shelf and look at it...look at it twice on bad days. That's really nice work.

i've tied some really silly looking shrimp. i always think that the fish will take the "special needs" (no offense to anyone, i just don't have the right words) shrimp because they are easier to catch and eat.

but then again i'm obviously special needs myself.
