Gulf State Park has big plans for spring -- including beer
[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt] Gulf State Park has big plans for spring -- including beer
“The Gulf State Park Pier was denied a liquor license this week after the City Council split on the issue, but a park official said that’s a minor setback in an overall plan to improve the beachgoers’ experience there.
Park Superintendent Lisa Laraway said she wanted to serve beer, wine and frozen drinks as part of a planned expansion of services at the concession area at the pier’s base, but in order to get a license from the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board the park needs permission from the Gulf Shores City Council. Laraway said she was caught off guard by the council’s denial but said she will move forward early next year with just serving beer, which doesn’t require city approval.”

I also heard something about a zip-line and a beach volleyball court. Just what we need at the pier. Maybe they'll lose interest at the pier and invade the pavilion area---there's more room and more parking there.

[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt] The zip line is at Lake Shelby, the poles are already up. Maybe all that stuff will distract some of the vacationers and there money!

I would have fun on a zip line, but that thing they are putting up just looks rickety.
