Gulf Shores closes beaches, Orange Beach to close them in the morning
October 3, 2013, Orange Beach, AL (OBA) – Melvin Shepard, beach safety director for Orange Beach, says his crews will fly double red flags starting Friday morning, Oct. 4, as the surf gets rougher because of the approach of Tropical Storm Karen.
The City of Gulf Shores has posted double red flags on all beaches within the corporate limits of Gulf Shores due to expected deteriorating conditions related to the storm.
This includes all beaches from Gulf State Park west to Laguna Key. The presence of double red flags indicates that extremely hazardous conditions are present or are expected and all waters are closed to the public.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
