GS pier help
Hey guys heading down 7/29 for a week. Was fortunate last year to Cath a nice red fish from the pier 39 inches - made me and my at the time 7 year old little guy. Caught it on a gotcha- casting out and realing back.
curious if the reds are there this year or any other fish are biting - any advice appreciated.
also thanks to tom (not sure if you are on here but I know you were local) who helped me net the big fish last year!

Indeed, the details contained in 'on site' reports from the pier should answer your question.
EVERY day is different, even parts of the day are different in what species can be found from the pier.
That is part of the allure of it. You never know what will swim by next ;-)
Bull red runs are a distinct possibility (even commonality), but impossible to predict precisely.
Go with the trends, and if you see a pattern, try to take advantage of it!
And welcome to the forum.
Hope your adventures next week are as much fun as you had last year and you share those experiences here with us as well!
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
