Great News for the Forum - PLEASE READ!

Some of you have seen those Cloudfare messages lately? That is actually a patch that is keeping us up and running. We have reached our limit with the current host and will be changing over to a new host probably over the weekend.

During that time, there will be an outage as the site is moved from one server to another. I might work on this Sun or Mon Night around 9-10pm. The site could be down for a few hours, but almost certainly be back up before everyone else wakes up in the morning. It will put an end to those annoying outages you guys are experiencing.

We are also looking at upgrading to a more stable forum platform. The current platform was great to get started and is fine now, but we are going to go ahead and solidify the future of the forum with a big software purchase. This is the same solution that pensacola fishing forum and the hull truth use.

With that new solution, you will be able to add pictures and EMBED VIDEO into posts!!!!!!! There are a lot of really good features for you guys within this software including a really good search function.

The look of the forum might change - basically the color. But that is all. Honestly, it is going to look a lot better. We will actually work on this part behind the scenes to get it stable as to not mess with the current forum. Then once we have tested it and removed all the bugs, we will just migrate all this over to the new platform. Your usernames, passwords, post counts, all the threads and posts and pictures, EVERYTHING will stay exactly the same... hopefully. Actually, you will lose your Private Messages, but that is all. The forum name will also be the same.

That might take a couple of weeks before you see those changes, but like I said it will be behind the scenes and not affect the forum one bit.

I will give you guys a heads up on when we are going to go ahead and switch hosting so you can be prepared. Like I said, it will be a night thing so it will hopefully be up finished by the next morning.

Hats off to you bubba. A question will photo uploading still be through photobucket or will you be able to send straight to the sight from a phone.

^^^ there are options with that software. Question for us to look at is storage space. Too many pics could get really expensive hosting wise. Thats why we use photobucket. But yes you can add a pic to a post on your phone. There are app solutions for it as well. Very robust.

[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt] Duck, I was all about putting pictures in the gallery when we started this forum until Bubba educated me on the affects of photo storage on forum in terms of cost and speed. Pics posted from Photobucket are stored on their server and don’t affect the speed of our forum.
You can have the pics you take with your phone automatically unloaded to Photobucket; there’s an app for that. Makes posting quicker and easier.
I hope everybody appreciates all the work that Bubba puts into keeping our forum up and running. I never realized there was so much time and work required to operate this thing.
