Great Fishing trip April 2015.
I spent the 11th of April until the 18th on the gulf shore pier the fishing was great. This was my first trip down there and I will be going back may even retire in that area. Kings, Jacks, Small Sharks, Sting rays were all running. Anyone who wanted to caught something did. At night allot of catfish, shark and flounders were being taken. I did see one guy bring up a 7 pound sheep head. Live shrimp worked well but live bait fish was the way to go. If you show up with out a pole do not rent one at the pier they are high priced and the tackle shop will stick it to you hard. What I did was I went down to Foley Al and picked up a pole and reel at a local pawn shop shop for $8.00. If you want you can go to Walmart which is near the state park entrance and get a pole and reel there cheaper than the renting at the pier. I picked up tackle at Walmart at the clearance section. It was allot cheaper than paying over 10.00 for 4 hours if your so much as a minute late you get charged 20.00 a day at the pier. The tackle shop only sells frozen bait at a high price. I found live bait on the main strip allot cheaper there are several shops so it pays to look around. Over all it was a great fishing trip.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
