Googans
1. Almost every new person that you have ever met where you live tells you they are from somewhere else, and seem amazed and awed when you tell them that you are indeed a local.
2. You get asked the question "Where's the beach?" about a hundred times a year by some fat tourist in a hawaiian shirt with too much sunscreen on his badly burnt face.
3. You have ever responded to the above question with: "Sir, you are currently on an island. If you go far enough in any direction, you will hit a beach."
4. You have ever sat in traffic for about 4 hours on a saturday, because of the mass exodus of people who just left their timeshares.
5.You have ever sat in traffic for about 4 hours on a sunday due to the fact that all these new googans are just arriving for their timeshares.
6.You go to dinner or any public place on any given night between the months of may and august and there is at least an hour wait for everything.
There are probably so many more discrepancies that people could bring up, and I want to hear them. Tell me if you have anything better to add to the list, and, by the way, if you own a condo or some beach house somewhere like this, but only visit this place occasionally, it doesn't matter how well you know the area, you are still a googan.

I resent that fact Wilson. Got one for ya though. If you see a couple swimming in the ocean in the middle of December and are talking about how nice the weather is.

Re: Googans
If y'all really want some strange looks from people, go suck for ghost shrimp.
You'll spend more time talking than catching shrimp.
"Excuse me, don't mind me asking, but what are you doing?"
"Are you looking for oil from BP?"

There are so many ways to have fun with that question.
My first answer would be " Nope, just giving the beach its weekly suck job"

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
