Ghostbuster
I never even knew ghost shrimp existed until a couple of years ago, and now I want to catch some, having watched people using them catch fish while I went biteless. I know John G will be happy to supply me with a shrimp sucker and I've seen what to look for to slurp them, but my question is, will hip boots be sufficient to get them. I know, I know---it all depends on how deep I wade, but will hip boots get me to where they live and keep me dry, presuming there's a north wind, low tide and little or no surf?
I really don't want to spring for chest waders unless it's really necessary. Aside from the cost for even a cheap pair, by the time I get some that will fit my big feet, there's room in the upper part for a small family of migrant workers without even crowding my ample belly too much (as long as they don't build fires and try to cook in there). As a matter of fact, I look so weird in chest waders, I'm afraid that other shrimp seekers in my vicinity will become so weak from laughing at me that they will fall over and get wet, perhaps contracting colds, flu or some other dread disease. I cant' stand the strain of that kind of responsibility.
So, will hip boots work, or would I be better off just getting wet and letting the cold water shrink my scrotal appendage up to the vicinity of my navel?

I see profit to be made from the collection and sale of these critters. I know kids who mow lawns in summer and rake/blow leaves in the fall for spending money. I would pay as much for them as I do live shrimp or bull minnows. With limited time down here on vacation I would rather pay for bait and enjoy fishing rather than collect bait. Just wondering if there is an enterprising young man or two in the area who would do this?

I understand all to well about getting way to much to haul long distance without the use of a simi &trailer My life saver is Sandflea ,who is most graciously allowing me to store my cart amongst other assorted fishing and beach paraphernalia in one of his buildings until I return .

I saw a video on YouTube where a guy used a water gun called the extreme splasher from Walmart($5) & it worked just as well, he sucked up 50 of them in a 6 min video.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
