Ft Morgan Seaweed/grass
I just started a long vacation at Ft Morgan. Any ideas how long the seaweed/grass is gonna hang around? It is kinda frustrating to not be able to fish the surf.

It depends on the type of seaweed you are encountering Greg.
Generally until the surf conditions change (Monday) it usually isn't likely much of a major change in whatever is suspended in the water.
Perhaps a slow improvement is possible?
Can you get a picture (or describe) the seaweed?Last edited by Pier#r; 10-10-2014 at 09:05 AM.

David - It is bright green and stringy but in clumps not slimy. I'll have to learn how to post pictures.

I agree, very frustrating... Been here since Thursday, tried Friday, more trouble than it was worth.
Hoping the wind shift Monday/Tuesday will help clean up the water...?
Any locals care to chime in on what kind of conditions it takes to clean up the water?

I was out there for thr last 10 day and it was aweful. You can fish along the side with out much seaweed but the farther you went the worse it got.

In case nobody has been out to check GS/FM conditions... feel free to stay home.
My hope is that it will clean out the weeds.
Appears more favorable winds will be here Tuesday.

Surf has been improving but there are still a lot of weeds and the water is pretty stained.
That being said I waded out to the 2nd bar and casted to the mudline and was able to hook into this nice jack... on a sandflea rig no less...

I will be coming down this Sunday. Any update on the seaweed?
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
