Wow! ???
A simple rinse won't fix that.
What kind of reel is it?
All it takes (with a cheaper built reel) is to be dropped in the swash zone or doused in the beach suds a few times and WALLA! ???
There should be a warning label on reels taken to the surf telling of the magnetic properties of sand to fishing reels. ;) :D
LOL
Larry, That must have been Sonny's reel!!! No, obviously the moron who owns it has more money than he has sense. :violent
David, it is (was) a Solstace. Todd, no, if it were Sonny's I could get away with kicking his butt for something like this. Going to have to save some of the sand and let you test it to see if there's any BP oil in it!!

About what one should expect for a $30 reel I guess. ::)
Still I've had good luck with my TX-2000 simply because I don't drag it around in the suds.
I think the owner didn’t notice this part of the product description:
“Will last for years with proper care.”
I will be by there tomorrow to pick up the soil sample to have it tested!
Sometimes those careless people with their equipment are good for business reel doc.
ouch... sending my vs 200's in today to get serviced...drop in sand, rinse, keep fishing ...
some people say its not necessary.. but i cant find anything else that will even consider standing up to a hard season of yak fishing, pier fishing, and just fishing 4-5 times a week..
sure wish they made a size smaller...
