    Fly Fishing?

Does anyone do any type of surf fly fishing? Think it would be pretty useless on the pier but maybe surf casting may be worth while...any thoughts?

I had thought of using a fly rod to catch a king....down wind & current side just let a bait drift out....Just to say I did it....thought some might get pissed though....I guess fall would be a better time when it is less crowded...no way I would even think about making cast with it....some talked about catching kings with a yoyo
off the beach would be ok, maybe with a north wind to help the cast....and NOT a crowded beach either

only fly fishing I do is from a boat or the bank of a bass-filled lake
I figure it this way, if everyone in the world had a lie clock, whose hands moved once every time they lied. You could use any politicians lie clock as a ceiling fan.

Recently I spoke with a real nice guy from LAFF (Lower Alabama Fly Fishers now called Eastern Shore Fly Fishers) who told me about fly fishing in the surf.
    Eastern Shore Fly Fishers

It sounded a LOT like work to me, but his latest quest was to (consistently) catch pompano on fly.
He did say the ladyfish and occasionally spanish were a 'slam dunk' fly fishing in decent conditions.

    Different strokes I guess... ;-)
