Re: fluorocarbon Help!!
Berkley Vanish...I personally have never had any problems with it. Second choice would be Sufix

Re: fluorocarbon Help!!
Avoid floro leader material for filling a reel; it is harder and stiffer. Limp casting line conversely is not as good as a leader because it resists abrasion less. People say look for 100% floro, but the Yozuri hybrid line has worked for me. (Also remember it sinks, so not so good for surface lures.)

Re: fluorocarbon Help!!
I've never had good results from 100% floro on spinning tackle myself. I tried several brands in six pound test for crappie fishing and they all were too stiff and took too much memory. I was lucky to get through one day of fishing.
I've had great success with some of the hybrid lines like Silver Thread and Suffix.
Wilson, post a review on the Vanish after you've fished it a few times. Maybe the problem is just with light lines and light lures.

Re: fluorocarbon Help!!
The stuff sure is expensive, regular mono with minimal terminal tackle, and weights as well as smaller hooks seem to make a pretty good difference if your going to try to go UL. I was thinking real seriously getting a second ul set-up using a ul reel (about a 2500), med-light rod and using a 10# hybrid or braided line. Be an awesome set-up for when you want a little longer casts, bottom fishing for flounder ect. That's another option you might try. Braided line though has its own issues and things to consider.
