fishing tips for a non local?

I'm going to be in the area with my kids the second week of June and I was hoping to get a couple hours of fishing in while I am down. I fish like crazy where I'm from but Missouri and the gulf are obviously 2 different things. I'm just wondering what kind of baits I should be using (I don't mean to sound like I'm trying to get the info on any secret lures I will be satisfied with using a lame live bait if it will get me a couple bites from anything) and maybe how to fish the bait ie; hook and sinker, bobber, jerk bait etc.I appreciate any advice I can get, thank you

You can use the search bar for that time and probably get some info there. Depends on what type of fish you want to target and what area you want to fish, also what gear you will have.

This forum is very helpful for people new to fishing and the people on here are very nice. A fishing guide is probably the best thing you can get for your first time fishing here. Just personal message Pier#r, he's from what I've heard one of the best people to go to for a fishing trip. and by the way, live bait is a lot of times or most the time the best bait for saltwater

+1 on hiring Pier#r. If you decide to go it alone try using live shrimp for bait on a spinning outfit with 10-12# mono using a Carolina rig with a 1oz egg sinker from the pier. You will need a bait bucket with a small bubble-aerator to keep them alive. Pompano, flounder, redfish, black drum, speckled trout, sheepshead and spanish mackerel all eat shrimp and are all good fish to eat. Go to J&M Tackle on Canal Road in Orange Beach and get a few bubble rigs and Looney jigs for spanish and they also sell live bait.

I would definitely message Pier#r and talk to him and maybe set up a guide tour or something with him.
