You can get it at bass pro shop, I think j m tackle in orange beach carries them too. Its mainly for Spanish mackerel. You can change the straw out with a gotcha or a clarkspoon. Whatever you prefer.

thats it but i like using a clark spoon on the end of mine instead of a straw.... i hear the best color straw though is red or white
What size do you use? Ill be using 0 tomorrow.
You can make your own rigs following the instructions in the website above. A piece of McDonalds straw seems to draw more strikes for me, but is easily ripped to shreds after catching a spaniard or two. I have found that the rubber sunglass straps (Walmart) are a lot tougher and you can catch several fish without having to replace it. I use red, orange, or chartreuse, doesn't seem to matter much as for color, what DOES matter is the retrieve. Keep the rig moving pretty fast so the fish can't get a good look at it. If you slow it down so they can catch it, they usually realize what it is and stop chasing it. I normally use 40# mono for the leader and it seems to work pretty good, just check it for nicks after every fish, which brings up another bit of info. You can expect a break off from time to time since they have TEETH! If you break off a spoon or gotcha, that is $3-$5 a pop, if you loose a straw(free) or sunglass strap(almost free), well you get the picture. I also have tried wire leader material which works great except instead of the fish tearing up the straw, the wire splits it open, so I just stick with the mono leader and re-tie often. As for as the amount of water in the bubble float, I fill it half full if the water is calm, but if it is rough I fill it 3/4 full. Hope this helps!! :fishing:

ya its white isnt it?
White with red/yellow stripes.
I keep several in my tackle box.
White withRED and YELLOW stripes
Burger king straw works well too.
I found it funny that the mcdonalds and burger kings in gulf shores ran out of straws a few times this year and folks were complaining. I think i know why...
Before stealing handfuls, though, perhaps an angler should politely ask to purchase a box of straws from the manager of the fast foods.
The employees are usually kind enough to hand you some by way of simply asking.
Just sayin'. :nyd: :poke1:
