Fishing tackle, where to buy
Planning on possibly coming down in a couple of weeks to fish for Spanish, Kings, Trout, et al. Someone suggested that J&M is a good place to buy tackle. In looking at there website, they only have a couple varieties of Gotcha plugs and almost nothing in the way of Mirro lures. Hopefully they have a lot more variety in their store. I noticed there is a Walmart close buy. I've always been able to buy Gotchas and other supplies at the WM in Navarre and Ft Walton Beach. How is the WM there? IF not J&M or WM where do most people get the lures and stuff they need?

J&M. It's a toy store for people who like to fish. If they don't have it you don't need it.

While you are there grab a 10 pack of 1/2 oz white Looney jigs-they will catch spanish and flounder. Floats for bubble rigs, uncoated 30lb camo/coffee seven strand, size 10 barrel swivels, a couple of size 4 sabiki rigs, and a small and a medium mesh ribbon rig for catching bait. The small LY are dynamite for spanish and the larger work great on kings, bull reds and jacks when they come through.

J&M is so far out ahead of WalMart that they don't even get a ribbon for second place any more. I know J&M has a six by four foot section of wall dedicated to Gotchas and the store is full of stuff THAT WORKS HERE ON THE GULF COAST. They wrote the book on customer service and if you hang around the store at the right times, you'll overhear conversations from local guides and charter captains to clue you in on fishing. Or, you can just ask the sales personnel. Good fishing.
No, I don't own stock in the store.

I goto J&M. Even my buddy that works at BPS was hella impressed by the store and knowledge. If I'm coming through too late, I stop at Hooked Up, then last resort is WM. WM is only to pick up Gulp or fish bites and to see if they have plugs on sale.

A word of caution, I'm from out of state and have been to J&M only once. I was so over whelmed with their tackle selection, I apparently slipped into a state of unconsciousness, ended up buying $100.00 worth of tackle that I already had.
No regrets.
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
