Fishing Season Question
Hi guys and gals, I am a non AL resident and planning to go to GS in April.
I was looking at the AL Fishing regulation App and saw that they listed King, and Spanish open season is May to Oct is that a mistake or i need to adjust my trip to a later time?

Re: Fishing Season Question
I thought it was always open season on King and Spanish. May through Oct is when they are in the area pretty good, minus August.

Re: Fishing Season Question
I believe that is intended as a generality of when those species are most available, not as a regulation.
At this time NONE of the species we commonly catch from the pier have a "closed season".

That could change however with the GMFMC meetings in Mobile this week. ???
Stay tuned for that...(RETIRED) mostly.

Those months are in the “Best Time to Catch” column. I think that must be what you saw.

Re: Fishing Season Question
That is interesting. Also, I guess the boys in blue will be on the Octi giving people fines when a shark eats half the king, since the King will be landed with out some of its fins...sometimes only a head

Re: Fishing Season Question
Ok yall;the regs are being mixed up.The king regulations have to do with commercal Fed.reg in Fed. waters.and the regs on landing in whole condition with all of its fins;is Floridas landing regs; neither apply to us.Yet?
