fishing report for Big Mouth 5/26/2015
Went out to big mouth/pelican point/view point this morning it wasn't looking too promising until we landed this nice 23 lbs 37 inches red drumfish, it was a beautiful fight!20150526_045619.jpg20150526_045716.jpg

Sorry saltlife24, but most of us don't know where pelican point, view point or big mouth is.

Nice Bull Red.
Pelican Point is the only name I know.
It is the end of Rt 1 in Baldwin County, ending at the mouth of Weeks Bay, there is a boat launch and plenty of open shoreline for fishing.
It is one of those places a person could go fish with a degree of protection on a very windy day, depending of course on wind direction.Ragnar Benson:
Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.

Yeah I'm not sure what it's actually called right there, game warden calls it view point but most people call it big mouth or pelican point

it was called Big Mouth in the 1940's. Its where fish river and Magonila river form Weeks bay and flow into Mobile Bay. Its a Deep somewhat Narrow pass. Cast as hard as you can and you may reach half way across the pass.

Thanks for the update guys. Now I know. Looks like I wasn't the only one trying to figure it out. Sometimes I'm afraid to ask as I don't want to look ignorant, but couldn't help myself this time.
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
