fishing other than on the pier?
surf fishing?
does anybody use the ocean kayaks and are they ok off the beach? what can i expect to catch? mid july

Yes, there are those of us who kayak, also. I paddle an Ocean Kayak Trident Ultra 4.7, which I consider the best open water kayak. There are a lot of models of OC's so we would need to know more about which model you have.
I fish little lagoon and the gulf in mine and love it.

Google Pensacola fishing forum and go to the kayak section. Its the best gulf fishing kayak forum I have seen on the net

July is a tough month, a lot of hot flat days, but there's a good chance of some kings around, sharks, redfish, tarpon. You never know. You just have to go for it. Talk to Peaches he does kayak charters, and fishes the area all the time. Bring you a milk crate set up to hold a couple of rods and a bucket and you'll be good to go. Be careful.

Educate me a little bit if you will. What are good turbidity numbers? If you can check those stats and determine what the water looks like before you go, that would be VERY helpful!
