Fishing off Dauphin Island in Solo Skiff

Will be down week of May 5th staying in beach front house. I have a solo skiff that i can lunch from surf on calm near calm days. Plan on staying within a mile of beach. Ive caught spanish macks from surf plus reds blues jacks etc. Never been off beach can anyone advise if Kings hang out this side of Mobile Bay or advice on fishing from small boat trolling etc. Thanks for any imput. I think that it's a fun idea! King mackerel in the Gulf? Sure! People take kayaks out, so why not a small skiff? You'll want to have your cell phone with you in case you get into trouble and to document your adventure. You may want to slow-troll/drift a cigar minnow if you have a trolling motor and maybe troll a plug for a while if the cig doesn't get a bite. Take a small gaff. You'll want to make sure that it's a clear weather report and not get too far out on your first journey. Remember to take pictures and post 'em here! It sounds like a fun time!
