Be sure to check through the local tackle shops for clearance baits. We hit BPS in Springfield Sunday for a little trip since the weather has sucked up here. Strolled over to the outlet store having in mind a pier rod that would throw plus for kings and be a little stronger for the Spanish when you have to ski them over the sharks. Low and behold hit the jackpot. Noticed Penn Battle 2 rods on the racks for $15, Snatched up a 7' 15-40lb class. Over to the reels...... grabbed a 4000 series offshore angler for $33. Having pretty good luck why not see if by a long shot they don't have some plugs out...... Oh they did alright. Good selection of the BPS brand suspending jerkbaits for .88 each. Super nice little set up at an even better price. Now I can rest a little easier as the in-laws pack around my rods while were headed down. So now the wait for spring. Looking forward to a weekend trip down for a few Spanish and maybe a early king!
