Fishing Licenses
Just a reminder. I believe the State of Alabama fishing licenses expire on August 31 and I believe all you “out of towners” like me can start renewing tomorrow 8/27.

I just renewed my saltwater permit for another year. It is free for old folks that are Alabama residents and you can do it online.
Only 4 more weeks until I come down for a month's fishing.............Looking forward to it...........

I turned 65 in July and no longer need to buy licenses.
What is the saltwater permit you refer to?Beware the power of fools in large numbers

It's the National Saltwater Registry (it's FREE!).
That assures you get counted as an Alabama saltwater fisherman so the state gets its 'fair share' of federal tax dollars charged to fishing related items.

"Saltwater Angler Registry" - you get it at the state site just like a license, but it does not cost anything. It is the same process as applying for a license you just check that one box in the list of licenses you are applying for and in the last column (to the right) it will say "$0.00" for the cost. You get a piece of paper just like the license only it just has the registry.
A friend of mine did not know to get one and when they checked him they just told him to get one, but I can't promise you they will treat you the same.People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I'm all set to go now.Beware the power of fools in large numbers
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
