    Fishing License Check

How strict and how often do the authorities check for fishing license? Which is checked more often surf or pier?
We are renting a house surf-side near L. Lagoon Pass and wondering what the odds of being checked are. I will have a license but if I ask the wife to watch my rod while I run to the restroom, luck would have it that she would get checked and ticketed.

I'm not sure what the odds are of being checked are. But the odds that a ticket is way more expensive than a license is very high.

Thanks, Haywire that answers my question. The purchase of my license supports my sport.

I've been checked twice on the pier this spring on fewer than ten trips out on the pier. Either they don't like my face or they are checking a lot more.
People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.
