Fishbites?
I see Fishbites mentioned here. I'll be fishing around southeast Mississippi and Dauphin Island off the shore and piers in early December. I don't care what I catch - not fishing for anything specifically.
What should I get?
Thanks in advance.

I've had the best luck with bright pink and white in surf and at the pier in the skinny water. I've seen orange being used and it worked too. Works great for whiting, croaker and ground mullet. I even caught smallish flounder, some pompano and slot reds. The slot reds I've caught have usually been on bigger pieces that I've cut slits in or tails onto ( got curious and tried it one day and it worked so I go with it ).
Best advice I can give it you plan to use them, get 3 or 4 colors your confident with and mix it up until you find what works. Fish can be finicky at times. I also use small ( size 1 ) circle hooks.
Hope this helps. Best of luck to you!

I'll also add that you should make sure that they are fresh. I ordered some from Amazon the first time that I bought them. They looked like Beggin' Strips when they arrived. The second time, I bought them at Walmart in GS. They looked better and I assumed that they were ok. This past week, I bought some from J&M. I realized that the ones that I got from Walmart were old as well. The colors and consistency were totally different. I checked the SKU #'s to make sure that they were the same product, and they were. Honestly, the fish didn't seem to care much, but the fresh ones are much more pliable and easy to work with, particularly when rigging with real shrimp. I never tried the really bad ones from Amazon.
I'll buy mine from John G from now on, as they are now a "requirement" in my tackle bag. This post is not to be reproduced in any fashion without the express written consent of Major League Baseball.

The reason most of the ones at J&M look good is because we store them in a walk-in cooler as advised by the company. With that being said, try to keep them in the fridge instead of in a tackle box when you are home.

I want to thank the suggestions for fish bites. They are working great. Does j & m have plenty in stock? Haven't heard what is being caught on pier or surf. Anyone spot any mullet running?

They'll be on the end of the aisle facing you, once you make it back past the snacks and sunglasses, coming in from the door on the left. This being said, I've never been in the fishing section for longer than 45 seconds without someone trying to help me.

Didnt know they had to be refrigerated. Learn something new everyday. Thanks John G.. I'll be buying them from you from now as Walmart nor Academy store them in a cooler and now that it's mentioned, I have seen a difference n several of the packs of supposedly the same color/scent.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
