Re: First fall trip next week
I've had great luck this time of year down on west beach. Any of the accesses through there ought to be getting good, and you may have some good luck in the out cuts on lagoon pass. Usually one small bottom rig (carolina or drop) with an ounce or so and a small hook (#4-#8) will produce some good eating fish. (Whiting, pomps, black drum, ect.) Fresh dead shrimp or live shrimp work good on the small rig or you can also fish bull minnows, finger mullet, or small croakers too. For a bigger rig, I like a fish finder with a 3oz weight for casting with a nice piece of fresh cut bait (skipjack, croaker, ect) or small croakers (3-6in), good sized finger mullet, or good sized live shrimp just depending on what you can get. (pinfish can work too) Hope that helps.

Thanks for the great info. The second setup would be targeting what species this time of the year?

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
