With this cold snap and N wind I'm thinking it might be a good time to find a new fishing spot here in gulf shores. I'm not really familiarwith much of the area other than around the pier. Im staying right next to the pier. If i wanted to catch some flounder, reds maybe some spanish where would you recommend ?
Perdido Pass or Little Lagoon Pass
For those species I'd recommend Ft Morgan Point.
But you've got a nice fishin 'hole' half way between you and the pier ;-)

That was always a issue coming in the spring on week trips.....you either hit it good or not so......a week either way sure can make a difference......and sometimes mother nature is a big issue

But yes, Little Lagoon Pass (about 3.8 miles west) is a good spot.
Perdido Pass is about 7 miles to the east,
and Fort Morgan is about a 25 mile drive (one way).
Some folks do well at Fort Morgan on the bayside beach to the west of the pier (now closed) by the boat ramp. It may be a little early, but flounder can be found there when they start moving towards the Gulf.Quote:
