Finally!!
Finally my vacation week has arrived. Will be making my second trip down from St. Louis. Getting in sometime Saturday. Looking forward to meeting a few of you guys/gals. Any chance J&M will have a big sale..haha. Even my wife liked that "bait shop". Any insider tips on getting in to Lulu's? Are the lines really as long as some say? I don't think I could handle an hour long wait with my 2.5 year old boy.
Tight lines folks!

Doc's in Orange Beach was my go-to spot for lunch for years when I was working down in that area a lot. They always had a great blue plate special.
One in GS is good, but doesn't have that "diner feel" to it.Carl

Not trying to be insulting to LuLu's but the only time we ate there we waited for 2 hours to eat mediocre overpriced food. I would also avoid Live Bait in Orange Beach. Mikee's, Shrimp basket, Cosmo's, Cobalt and Flippers are our favorites. Always ask the source of your seafood and try to get gulf shrimp and fish to avaoid overpaying for imported farm raised $#!+.

We loved Cobalts the first few times we went there but the last time, it was just average for the very high prices. Our favorite place that has never disappointed is Fishers Dockside (not the upstairs the downstairs). It is across from Tacky Jacks in Orange Beach (you should stay away from tacky jacks too). Also I know what you mean about gulf seafood we were recently at a restaurant and got farm oysters from Louisiana and I got food poisoning.
Go Vols, I don't mind Nick Saban, but Lane Kiffin just bends the rod too much.

This time of year, the busiest part of the season, the restaurants are generally so packed that they can get away with sub-par food. There are so many people looking for a place to eat that there are lines everywhere and the kitchens are pressured to turn out lots of food. Not a criticism of any or all eateries, that's just the way it is. Some places manage to adjust, some don't. Me, I'll go to Hazel's in Orange Beach or get peanuts and a Coke at J&M.

Lulu's is the only "touristy" place that the wife and I go, BUT....we only go in the off season, and generally after the lunch rush. Even still, it's like the Chili's of seafood joints. Shipp's Harbor Grill is a favorite of ours. They even catered our wedding. Does anyone have a review of Driftwood Bar & Grill over at the Wharf? It's where the Compleat Angler used to be.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
