First of all, Welcome to the forum, it's a great place to be. You will find all kinds of help on here. Your best source of info is on the upper right hand corner of the Forum. As far as what you expect to catch; maybe some whitting, maybe some red drum, maybe some black drum, maybe some pompano, but probable nothing, not even a cold. It's been in the middle and upper 70's the past week, and I think it touched the 80's yesterday. Tight lines, my friend.

I agree with flyguy on the forum search feature. You can get an education in fishing the north Gulf within these pages. Many many knowledgeable anglers have shared their years of experience here. I have came down for a week in January or February the last 6 years. Some years the fishing has been pretty good and i have caught all the fish flyguy mentioned. Some years have been very challenging at best. In the end you never know unless you go! In my humble tourist opinion think fresh shrimp, fish bites, light line, the smallest weight that will hold the bottom and size 4 or 6 kahle hooks and see what happens. If I'm there I'm going to fish. Good luck

Check the reports section and go back to see what was caught last February and in years before. Everything is archived there, by date. I know that you said, "from the beach", but what's caught in skinny water from the pier is likely what you can expect to catch from the beach. To a degree (literally) water temps control fishing success in February. The only way to actually know what's biting at any given time is to go and get your live shrimp, ghost shrimp, fresh dead peeled shrimp, or FDPS with fishbites where you think they're biting and give it a try.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
