the famous ly
Just had a question at the pier is this a good bait for slot and big reds I tried using one today in the first trough and no luck but I never used one before I had live shrimp that the big school of trout wouldn't even take

LYs are a great bait for almost anything swimming around the pier.
The smaller ones are great bait for those lock jawed spotted b@st@rds in the skinny water, and Spanish too.
Normal to Grande are awesome for Kings, Reds, Jacks and of course the ubiquitous sharks.
Dang near everything preys on them.
Other good baits to be found around the pier at times are Spanish Sardines & Cigar Minnows, and less desirable but having their uses are the much maligned Hardtails, Leather Jackets & Crazyfish.
Want a better chance at those Specks go Light/Ultra Light with nothing but a small hook.
No weight, no swivel... Nada.
And then spend endless hours cussing them till the one magical minute out of the day when one of them might eat something, and you bait is the equivalent of a winning PowerBall ticket.Ragnar Benson:

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
