fall fishing?
Off hand, could anyone tell me what is the latest month in the fall that the majority of gulf fish (from surf and pier) are still around and actively feeding? Hoping for a king next time, as well as more pompano (too delicious, I keep thinking about them). I'm trying to plan my next trip...

We find pompano are still in the surf in October, along with whiting, gulf flounder and many more surf fishees. Looking to repeat this October.

October is one of my favorite months to fish. Kings/spanish are usually still in and you can catch an occasional pompano, though Spring (April/May) is best for pomps. October is when I also do my best speckled trout fishing. Whiting and flounder - definitely a good time for catching them! I keep what I catch and I love to eat fish, so -- my recommendation is October!

October. How long things last into November depends on how fast the water temps drop. Kings leave first, then Spanish. Then flounder. Whiting, pompano and reds might bite all year.

October will be on fire this year at Ft. Morgan; we just booked a house today and that proves it, right? I hope I'm right. Maybe I'm right. Anyway, it will be just alright with us.

Gonna replace a few newer pieces of plastic crap with some vintage stuff this summer.Good times, Good friends, Great Beer. You can buy all three - But it's always better to invest the time to make your own.

October, like everyone said. Usually I get to come down then, but unfortunately I'm limited to July 4th weekend this time. But hey, I will take any month fishing here than not.

1st one in hand, Penn 550SSM, #2 is on the way. Snapped up a NIB Penn 710Z off the Ebay tonight....just have to find some decent rods to pair them with.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
