Fairhope: I stared into the cold, black eyes of the Shark...

...as he lay on the deck, thrashing against the restricting mesh of the capture net. With one mighty surge, he leaped within several feet of me, but I had taken several steps back, as if anticipating his attempts to end my life- just as I intended to end his. Mano e Mano.

But no. Not on my watch. in the Spirit of Sport, I released this denizen of the deep back to his world to prowl again. One Shark, and one man, both with a point to prove. I have become Nature.

I've also become redundant and boring, so I'll skip to the part where a little (30") Shark swallowed a white trout floating under a cork off the West end, and gave me a bit of fun on my 8# line. Had three avg. Ground Mullet on Croaker pieces, two little Specks. No Reds sighted.
Water is still dirty, WNW wind sucked again. Saw only a few brown Shrimp on the wall.

I should admit that I thought the Shark was a big Hardhead at first but I don't want to sound stupid. Too late?

    You did good!
    And 'right' ;-)
Folks should be aware AL has tight regulations on what sharks may be kept...
    http://www.outdooralabama.com/sites/...ril%202015.pdf
Sharpnose, Bonnethead none (length limit) 1 per person per day
All Other Shark Species 54" FL (30” dressed) 1 per person per day
That was a great catch on 8#
Surprised it didn't chew the line (leader?)
Hope the water clears and fishing gets better soon!

Me = dumb luck, Pier. I was hoping for a big Speck. Small circle hook way up in the corner of his mouth had to help, leader was #10 fluoro, so yes I got lucky.

This was my first Amazonian Green Tiger shark though, so it deserved the release.
