Don’t be afraid of the rain
The surf bite during this mornings steady drizzle was non stop action. I was planning a sand flea hunt pre dawn but slept thru the alarm clock. Started with orange fish bites flea flavor and hit several whiting, my personal favorite for cut bait for reds, whiting were pretty small to several over 10”, small jacks and pin fish. First set with cut whiting brought me a red close to 22”, I missed a few hard hits as I was kung foo fighting with small hard heads and other species on my other rods. Threw a spoon for a bit as birds were working off the backside of the sandbar, nothing. Did end up with a stingray and blue both on cut bait. I did try a live pin fish after the clouds broke but zero on that. I was surprised at the clarity of the water after yesterday’s chop.
The last two October’s brought me some magnificent pompano, the trip is young so here’s to hoping.
Tight lines all.

That is right!! If there's one thing for sure about fishing, nobody can catch fish sitting on the couch!
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
