Re: depth?
Likley it washed out some in places after TS Debby.
I would luv to chat with the divers who were down around the pilings last week.
But typically the depth on the end has ranged from 25'-28'.
Below is a bathymetric lidar (water penetrating radar) picture of the pier and surrounding water depths taken in an aerial survey in Feb 2010 :headbang:

Re: depth?
Off the sides of the octi, its been more shallow since the storm. While fishing for spades, I am hitting bottom less than 12' down in some spots. The end is closer to 16'-18', and randomly deeper in a few locations.
But, this is dropping straight down. Im sure it varies a short ways from the octi. It was much deeper last year in the same spots.

Re: depth?
My depth finder has been showing a pretty steady 26-27 ft when I am sorta close to the octi. I got dragged a little ways out today by my jack and it never got deeper than 33 ft.

That's about what we read on Saturday, there's some real shallow spots to the East in-between the pier and pavilion.

Re: depth?
Yes, there's always been a series of 'bars' and troughs oriented NW-SE along that stretch of coast.
http://mapserver.mytopo.com/homepage...tlontype=DM.MM
The big swells of Sunday June 24 could be seen 'cloud breaking' on the bar to the SE of the GSPPavillion.
That's the 17' oval shape on the right side of the above chart location.
Big waves like that can sure move a HUGE volume of sand over a fairly long distance.(RETIRED) mostly.

Yeah, and just like that the telemetry from the site went down (at 1:06 this morning). They should get it working again Monday. Generally speaking, king mackerel are about our most sensitive fish...
