Crabbin
Hey guys. New to the site. Planning on visiting with the family at the begging of August and had a simple question. We are staying up the bon secour and I was wondering how far up the river you could catch crab and shrimp. Thanks!

I don't know about crabs, but I know there are shrimp to be had as far up as the marshy areas about a mile down from where Co Rd 10 crosses. Not much in the way of fish in August in there. If you're fishing, try for flounder on the edges of the marshy runs as the tide is falling or for rat reds. Specks are not there until the cold fronts start coming through (Oct - Nov).
People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

Wow. Thanks for the info frednic. Probably canoe down and cast net a bit for them shrimps then to a public area in the evenings to crab.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
