Cook out?
I'm bringing a group of kids from our church youth choir down for a day outing, June 11. They are singing in Hattiesburg, Wiggins, and Jasper. We plan on bringing a few in early Tuesday, with others later in the day. Hoping the weather cooperates and we are able to catch a few fish. We'll have around 15 altogether, so we won't be overwhelming.
If we are fortunate enough to catch some fish, and I've already upped our odds by (hopefully) involving Pier#r, do they allow a tailgate grill to be set up anywhere around close to cook some fresh fish for supper? I know the pier is out, but does the pavilion allow you to use a grill and/or fryer?
Anyone familiar with the picnic area on the lake across the street from the pier?
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Derekb -- just what I was needing, some personal experience/insight into what the place looks like. That should work fine, I bet.

Rich, your more than welcome to use my small Cajun Fryer for your get together so you don't have to lug cookers and propane tanks around.

Thank you, Mr. John. That would be a huge help. Going to make some french fries and hush puppies. The kids are excited. Most have fished very sparingly and none "in the ocean" as they put it. If they catch fish and get to eat them later that same day it will be a real experience to them. If the weather and the fish will cooperate just a bit, we should have an awesome time. One day trips are a shot in the dark.
I did see that hammerhead pix. Amazing.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
