coming to a beach near you
On my way back to the coast from my turkey hunting grounds, I crossed the Tombigbee River at Jackson, AL, and it looked like the giant baby upstream got sick drinking chocolate milkshakes and somebody gave him an enema. The river is bank full of that nasty stuff, coming this way after all that rain. Sure hope it settles out in Mobile Bay. It figures---just when fishing is getting good, the water may turn nasty---I hope, I hope, I hope it doesn't, but hope is a fragile thing---easily crushed and quickly abandoned, leaving us to look through its broken shell at harsh and cruel reality.
Did I tell y'all I was reading philosophy books while waiting for the turkeys to show up?

Yeah I know the feeling I'm supposed to fish a little tourney is Herron Bay Saturday morning I'm sure it will be like fishing in a milkshake with all that extra mud that will be pushed into the bays.

Got nearly 7 inches near Sylacauga, Coosa River way up and rising. Guntersville was even flooded this morning at work, so that will be headed your way as well. Seems like every time I was down last year was about 3 days after heavy rain up here. Fishing DI, I would catch back up with it when I got there!

Rivers between here & Montgomery were already high last weekend. All this rain isn't going to help.
Only bright side is that with all this high waters, should be a hell of a crappie spawn this spring. And the grass beds on the northern end of the bay should do very well with the salt wedge pushed south.Carl

Starting with the early excuses.
Haywire is back in town and the fishing looks to slow down
Is it the water or the fact that haywire is back
Coincidence..............or not

Crossed it yesterday George and the shooting houses in the cotton fields only had a foot of post above water. I've seen it high during the rainy season but not this time of year.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
