Comin in next week from Ga w my 12 yr old

Hey Yall!I've been reading this forum the last couple of days and it's great.I had to make a profile to ask a few quick questions.First,it says 40percent chance of rain next week on most days.Im not asking anyone to play meteorologist but in general,do "40 percent" storms come and go?Will my pier fishing day be rained out? Also,I'm assuming there is a on site bait location at the pier? Are there any cigar minnows? What are some good restaurants around?I could go on and on but I'll leave it at that.Lol.I'm excited to meet all of y'all. It will be my 76 yr old father and law and my 12 yr old son.My father n law has drove a tractor trail or for 55 yrs and has NEVER taken a vacation. He still drives 5 days a week. This next week will mean sooo much for him.Thank y'all in advance for answering my questions.Oh,how has the bite been the last few days?-Joey

    Welcome Gsm!

Not sure what your weather source is but it does not saavy with the NWS 'official' forecast for the Gulf Shores area...
    http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...66403198242187

The winds are predicted to be onshore (for the most part) during the coming week
    http://weather.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/fmtb.../gm/gmz650.txt
And that generally (during the summer) translates to our best chance for rain to occur at the pier to be first thing in the morning (5-10 am) and then again in the evening (5-10pm).

There are no organized weather patterns predicted to impact the area, just the 'garden-variety' showers and occasional thunder showers.

Hope this helps and you all have a GREAT vacation enjoying what the Good Lord has provided us!

Welcome aboard GSM! There are places to that cover on the pier when a thunderstorm does pop up. 40% rain is also 60% not. We are in our normal summer pattern.
Plenty of good places to eat, here's a link to the area restaurant guide:

There is bait available at the pier, your best bet is going J & M Tackle for anything you need in the way of tackle and live bait. If you want to fish with shrimp, stop by one of the seafood shops and get some fresh ones, way better than the frozen stuff.

Hope you have an enjoyable visit to paradise!
